The Kash Girl – Sheefa Gilani
Finding a profession is not that easy, it takes a lot of time to discover your ultimate passion, it’s a journey accompanied by studies, following your hobby and finally growing into something bigger than dreams. Today we have someone for whom fashion was initially a leisure pursuit, which then developed into something all-consuming and now is her number one passion. She is a full-time MA student at the London College of Fashion and a part-time fashion mushroom at MissMalini.com. Hipster, Balmain freak and conventional could be one of the many words to describe Fashion blogger, Sheefa Gilani – THE KASH GIRL.
KASH consists of her thoughts, personal experiences, and views on fashion with a focus on spotlights and new talents.
When we encountered about the story behind her blog, she told us that KASH initially started with a collaboration that was formed out of two people’s names. As two individuals, they love to experiment with their personal styles and plug the edge, only to procure a spanking impression on how to play dress-up. However right now, she solely run it by herself. The name is catchy, spunky and fresh. She is has a love for Hipster fashion. “A lot of fringe is always good”, she says.
Edgy, yes that’s what the Kash girl describes herself in a word, she sports many different styles on her blog in order to experiment and show her audience how they could pull off a trend. If you know her you’d know, her style is everything but conventional.
When it comes to shopping, one word that strikes her head is Online. According to her, Koovs.com in India and Asos.com worldwide could be your best places to shop the latest trends.
The flared pants are her all time favourite and most versatile trend this season. Alexander McQueen and Kate Moss are her top favourites because the of the uniqueness of the former and the simplicity and edginess of the later.
Moving on with our questionnaire, we asked her the following questions:
What are you favourite blogs and why?
I love the Man Repeller. You ask, Why? Well, because that girl knows how to break the rules and still look super good.
What are the best aspects of running your own blog? What are the hardest aspects?
Best aspects; you’re absolutely doing what you love! Hardest, I’d rather say the challenging part. That would be being a part of the conversation, both on my blog and of others in the industry.
What clothing items will you say is timeless?
What trend from the past will you like to have a comeback?
Fashion repeats itself everyday. All my favourite trends are currently making a comeback. The ‘60s, ‘90s they are everywhere! I’m in my happy place at the moment.
In the end of our conversation, she had a sincere advice to all the aspiring bloggers –
“If you are passionate about what you do, don’t let anything come in your way or stop you from doing what you truly love”, she says. Further she comments that, success won’t come quickly or easily, don’t let this discourage you, but just know it could take months, if not years, to start making a living with your blog.
