India’s Tour Of Zimbabwe 2016

“Zimbabwe is set to invite India for three one-day internationals and three Twenty-20 matches in June”, the country’s cricket board said on Tuesday. BCCI confirmed the India’s Tour of Zimbabwe 2016 on Wednesday.
All the matches will be played at Harare Sports Club with the ODIs.
The three ODI’s will be played on June 11th, 13th and 15th followed by the T20’s to be played on June 18th, 20th and 22nd.

“After finalizing all the formalities with the Board of Control for Cricket in India, we are pleased to announce the upcoming tour scheduled for this June,” Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Wilfred Mukondiwa said in a statement. Indian players have been regular travelers to Zimbabwe in recent seasons with three tours since 2010, including last year, all featuring limited-overs matches.
India has an upper hand with better record against the side with total 68 matches played, Zimbabwe only won 10 matches while India won 50 with 8 ending in a draw. India is currently on a 9 match unbeaten streak against the side.

The team morale will be up and players will also be in a great form, since it will be directly after IPL. The players who will be under spotlight, captained by M.S. Dhoni who has regained his famous helicopter shot. Vice captain, Virat Kohli, who has been at the peak and scored the most awaited T20 century with Rohit Sharma, the only player to score two double century is in his best form with a chance of there being a third. There can be a possible comeback if Gautam Gambhir is to replace out-of-form opener Shikhar Dhawan. Praveen Kumar can also be the second bowler after Ashish Nehra to make a comeback and Murugan Ashwin can replace Ravichandran Ashwin who seems to be doing the same in IPL. Yuvraj Singh is injured and Pawan Negi was also out-of-form which can make a comeback of Amit Mishra and Axar Patel possible.

The new kids on block like Sarfraz Khan, Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Shivil Kaushik, Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Sandeep Sharma and Kunal Pandya can expect there first international call up following tremendous performance. Hardik Pandya will also be in a spotlight this series, not because of batting or bowling, but for fielding which makes him second player after Jhonty Rhodes to have regular inclusion due to this skill set.
